At the April 5, 2017 Council Meeting a project extension of 60 days from Notice of Award was approved for the Contractor. The Notice of Award was November 22, 2016. As a result of the extension, the Contractor must now complete all work on the Project by July 24, 2018, additionally, all work contemplated from Observer Highway to 8th Street must be completed by January 20, 2018.

Liquidated damages for failure to meet these deadlines are $5,000/day plus $150/hour for engineering and inspection costs. The City shall deduct and retain any money due until completion and acceptance of work.

Construction Hours

Construction hours will be Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 7:00pm and Saturday 9:00am to 3:00pm. On weekdays, setup of daily activities will be permitted to begin at 6:30am with cleanup activities completed by 8:00pm. On Saturdays, setup is permitted to start at 8:30am with cleanup completed by 4:00pm. The modified construction hours were approved by the City Council in order to expedite the construction schedule and minimize the disruption to this vital commercial corridor.
